I loaded version 31.8 to allow import from Outlook. When attempting to import from outlook I get the following error message "Unable to save your message as draft. Unable to open the temporary file C:\Users\Art\AppData\Local\Temp\nsemail-38.eml. Check your 'Temporary Directory' setting." The file in the error message exists, but is empty.

What does the message mean and how do I resolve the problem? Thank you, Art

I failed to mention that the file in the error message exists, but is empty.

That error message implies you had a 'Write' message window open in order to compose a new email.

Info: nsmail.eml, nsmail.tmp, nsmail.html Temporary files created in MozillaMailnews when sending a message. If you get an error message about being unable to open the temp file nsmail.tmp when sending a message try re-configuring your anti-virus program not to scan email messages.

Do you use 'Avast' anti-virus? If yes, create an exception in Anti-virus software for the file nsemail.eml in your computers temp folder.
