Installed TB, I have two e-mail accounts; Hotmail & TWC that I added separately. Now Hotmail with Lock, and yellow folder TWC in it. TWC with lock as 2nd acc.
I installed TB last night, I have 2 e-mail accounts, Hotmail and TWC. Now, in the Hotmail account I created first has a brown lock next to it. I created my second Time Warner company it has a lock also next to it. Today I have the Hotmail that is the top account with the lock on the folder, in the list of Folders below Hotmail there is a yellow TWC folder in the list of folders below the yellow Junk E-mail folder.
Below that yellow TWC folder that is in the Hotmail folder, there is the second Account of TWC with the lock on it and it has all it's subfolders like the Hotmail one. Now when I receive e-mails from the TWC account my mail comes into the 2nd account of the TWC and the e-mails do not go into the yellow twc folder in the Hotmail subfolders.
I delete that yellow folder in Hotmail and it does not delete it, sometimes it goes into the Hotmail Delete folder but still stays where it is in the subfolder of Hotmail, so this means that it has now two twc yellow folders in Hotmail subfolders. And I always get a message from TB that either the folder has been deleted, that it cannot be deleted or Hotmail cannot delete it. It has nothing to do with Hotmail account I created it separately from Hotmail!
I have tried looking into Hotmail's Properties and it does not show anywhere in there. I just cannot delete that yellow folder keeps popping up when I open TB. Can anyone help me find how to remove that yellow folder? Thanks for your time and efforts.

The small lock merely means you are using a secure connection method.
If you are talking about an imap mail account folder: Have you unsubcribed from seeing that 'twc' folder? If not then unsubscribe from seeing it.
If you logon to the hotmail webmail account using a browser, is that folder 'twc' folder visible? If yes, then delete it.
Confirm the hotmail webmail account does not have any 'twc' folder. Confirm you were able to unsubscribe that 'twc' folder.
Please make sure you are viewing all folders; not unified view. Either: 'View' > 'Folders' > 'All' OR : 'Menu icon' > 'Folders' > 'All'
Could you post an image showing the 'Folder Pane as this would make it much easier to understand the situation?
Thank you Todd for your response, here is the screenshot of TB. I'm brand new in TB this is my third day, so you know. I sent you three attachment of what is going on, look at the title of the attachment it tells you what I'm doing. Please, delete those attachments so no one will see them but support personnel like you, please. I don't want my personal information, like you see in those attachments to be seen by the public to ruin my Privacy! Thank you.
Now I am writing you in my laptop, I also have a desktop that TB was installed the day after I did it in my laptop, now in my desktop the same yellow twc folder was in the Hotmail account, I dragged it into the Local folders' Trash and it went there, and I deleted it from that Local folders' Trash and it is gone, up till now I shut down my desktop to come work in my laptop. Also, my desktop is Windows 7, my laptop is Windows 10, just so you know. And now it seems to be getting the e-mails I get into the Locked TWC it didn't do that before yesterday, I tried to delete that yellow twc folder several times bringing it into Local trash and it does not work in my laptop Win 10, I keep getting that TB message bottom right pop up. Hope you can help me with that. Thank you

You could edit the comment - deleting the images. If you open your saved images using eg: 'Paint', then you can smudge the email addresses, save changes and then post the image.
Please follow instructions and offer requested information.
Make hidden files and folders visible:
In Thunderbird
- 'Menu icon' > 'Help' > 'Troubleshooting Information'
- click on 'Show folder' button
a new window opens showing the contents of your profile name folder which is usually called 'xxxxxxxx.default' where the x's are letters and numbers.
I'm presuming the 'hotmail' account is a POP mail account as it seems to have all of the default Thunderbird folders
- If pop, then click on 'Mail' folder
you will see a list of pop mail accounts and 'Local Folders' account. I need to see an image showing this.
- Please post an image showing contents of 'Mail' folder.
- click on hotmail account name.
- Please post image showing contents of 'hotmail' account.
Here are the two images that you asked for from Window Explorer.
I'm in my desktop doing this and both laptop and desktop have the same yellow of twc folder that is in my Hotmail account, and my desktop's TB installation was the day after I installed the one in my laptop, just so you know.
And I didn't see POP for Hotmail I saw a IMAP in its properties.
Also, the twc yellow folder, the incoming mail goes in it now. I have to go delete the mail in it so it doesn't confuse me which account is where!

I need you to answer these questions: Q: If you logon to the hotmail webmail account using a browser, is that folder '@twc' (twc email address) folder visible?
You mention the '@hotmail' account is IMAP - You also mention that '@twc' folder is visible in Thunderbird on both laptop and desktop. This sounds like it is on the server as both laptop and desktop are able to access the same folder.
Q: Have you ever set it up so that your twc emails are forwarded to the hotmail account?
In Thunderbird right click on the '@hotmail' mail account in Folder Pane and select 'Subscribe' A 'Subscribe' window opens. Q: Is the '@twc' folder listed in the 'subscribe' window ?
You have shown me the contents of 'Local Folders' account which is not required.
I need answers to the above queries before proceeding.
A: 1. I just logged into Outlook and YES the TWC account is in the list below my .hotmail.
A: 2. No I did not set it up that my e-mails go into .hotmail account, I would not know how to do that in the first place, unless it would have been written in the Setup of TB, and I didn't see it there!
A: 3. Yes In .hotmail in Subscribe in the list the yellow twc is there, with its subfolders, and there is a check next to it. And I checked in my laptop and the yellow twc folder is ithere also. Do you want me to remove that check mark?
Sorry I sent you the contents of "Local Folders".
Thanks for info. now I need to see what is in the following folders:
In Thunderbird
- 'Menu icon' > 'Help' > 'Troubleshooting Information'
- click on 'Show folder' button
a new window opens showing the contents of your profile name folder
As you have Imap mail accounts...
- click on 'ImapMail' folder
- Please post an image showing contents of 'ImapMail' folder.
- click on the imap hotmail account folder
- Please post image showing contents of imap hotmail account folder.
Okay here are both IMAP folders.
Again, Thank you so much for all the works you're doing to resolve this issue.
Cheers.
- Could you click on the 'imap-mail.outlook.com' folder and post image of contents.
- Could you click on the 'mail.twc.com.sbd' folder and post image of contents.
In Thunderbird
- Right click on hotmail mail account and select 'Subscribe'
- Unsubscribe from seeing the '@twc' folder.
Do this on both desktop and laptop.
Then logon to the webmail account via a browser and delete that '@twc' folder to remove it from server.
Then you will need to tidy up the profile folders/files, but I need to see those additional images first before advising what to do.

Gone in both my pc, but you will see I lost some folders in .hotmail though, I wonder if you can help me fix that too!!!! Thanks
Hi Todd,
Just so you know, the hotmail's yellow folder re-appeared again the next day, I thought of going to Outlook and see if twc's was still in there, and yes it was so I removed it in that account there, in Outlook, and now I do not have it any more in TB. I also added in TB's account of hotmail the Folders that were missing via settings. So up till now everything is working as it should be and it's been close to a week and the yellow folder does not come back in hotmail!
Thanks for your help and I've learned tons working this problem out. I will mark this problem as SOLVED!
Happy New Year to you and yours!
