latest firefox new tabs will not open
this is very odd, however very much a huge problem. upgrading to the latest firefox (52.0.2) has brought me a problem I have never had before -- when adding a new tab and then either clicking on a link or write a link -- it simply sits there with the animation on the tab but the tab never opens. there are tabs already open and if i choose one of those and then either click a link or write one -- then it works.... seems like new firefox tabs are somehow not working while existing ones do work.
this all goes away in SAFE MODE, where i do not get access to my Toolbar Links, however everything else works properly, including new tabs. also -- Chrome works properly as well.
Can you help me at all? I have never had a problem like this before and I really need my Firefox. Any ideas?

Hi, the latest version of FF is actually v56 which you have! To check your version of Firefox. Open the 3-bar menu > Help (question mark at bottom right) > Troubleshooting Information. Or, Help > About Firefox, to check for available updates.
Since it works in Safe Mode, disable any theme or add-ons you have - Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A) > Extensions/Appearance, then if it's OK, re-enable them one by one until you find the culprit. You may need to restart Firefox.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!
Hi - I have disabled the three ad-ons i had and uninstalled the MEGA plug-in.... same as before - i can work with existing tabs and right+click links and they open a new tab properly. When I CTRL+T and then type in, or select from bookmarks a link - it just sits there playing the circle animation on the tab... so I am stuck using existing tabs, or I can open new ones with right clicking however I need to be able to open a new tab and it work properly - please help all the add-ons and extensions are now disabled and the problem persists.
