running windows 7 professional. the e mail files don't appear when I copy over the folder.
My old pc had a catastrophic failure but off my back up server I have the profile folder. When I copy that into the new profile folder on my new PC it doesn't find the mail only the address book. How do I make it work. I am on windows 7 professional

Thunderbird must be closed before performing any copy pasting in the profile folders.
You need to copy all the Contents of the backup 'profile name' folder (not the actual 'profile name' folder) and paste them into the new 'profile name' folder, over-writing the default files and folders.
'profile name' folder is usually called 'xxxxxxxx.default' where the x's are letters and numbers.
The image below shows a typical view of all the files and folders you would be copy pasting.

Well it worked but in the folders I also got these odd archives & draft & trash folders. Can I delete them?
