It says cookies are saved but "website permissions" are not. Will this prevent me from revisiting websites w/o re-entering a password? The reason I ask is many are so ancient that I have no idea what the password is. I rely on Firefox or Keychain filling them in.

Be cautious with disabling DOM storage globally because that can cause issues if that is what you are talking about.

I'm not sure what you mean with "website permissions".

Is this about the "Site Preferences" that you can find under "Clear Recent History" or do you mean the permissions as shown in "Tools -> Page Info -> Permissions"?

  • clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exceptions for password and other website specific data

A detail like a website remembering you (log you in automatically) is stored in a cookie, so if you keep such cookies then websites should remember you and you shouldn't have to enter the password.
