I am having login issues as I changed my password with Rogers, but when I input my new password in Thunderbird when prompted, it comes up with an error -

"Login to server imap.mail.yahoo.com with username xxx......@rogers.com failed"

I wanted to try to delete the account and reinstall, but don't want to lose all the emails that I have saved in Thunderbird. What can I do to save them to import into the new(old) account?

Please post your Troubleshooting Information. At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button , then select Help > Troubleshooting Information. Press the "Copy text to clipboard button" and paste the information into your reply.
