Random Videos Have No Sound
I am having issues with some videos having no sound on my desktop computer even though I know they have sound and the sound works on my cell phone, tablet, laptop, and siblings computers. For example: These maths videos through Khan Academy have no sound on my desktop (but do on all the other devices) https://www.khanacademy.org/math/arithmetic/arith-review-multiply-divide And none of the longer videos on this channel have sound (warning: NSFW / not child-friendly content) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJW9YScngZyevv40qOS5QYQ/videos but some of the short ones do like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45OvAn487n4&t=6s have normal sound. The Sips Live channel used to have sound on my desktop too but doesn't now and they all have sound on all of my other devices.

Play both youtube one after another and no sound issues. Played a sample of the math site and no problem with sounds either. So your random sound could be adblocker or security software issue. Did you try safe mode to see what happens?

As you use Linux and not Windows like WestEnd above uses there could be a few reasons that a Windows users may not get.
For example Firefox uses PulseAudio since Firefox 46.0 and later as 45.0 and earlier used ALSA.
It may be possible that audio is getting muted on your system. When I use say TVtime to watch Tv in a window and then close it, it sometimes mutes the volume of system and I have to unmute it.
Also make sure the volume on youtube html5 player is not muted or low. You may likely have checked this already.
Its only certain things though, shouldn't all of those suggestions apply to any video opened? I can open a video and have it playing with normal sound and then go, in the same tab and everything, to a video from those places and a few other ones and the sound will suddenly not work.
