downlod an doinstall add ons
probably i'm just stupid.
I've tried to find and install a few add ons. Unfortunately i connot find any download button in the selected Add ons. Wow cann I initiate download and install! The help text says:
There is no "Umschaltfäche" in those add ons!!
What can I Do??? Thanks

Hello Haf01,
By going to the 3-bar menu => Add-ons you won't be able to find new add-ons, let alone install them ....
I don't know what add-on(s) you are looking for, but you'll find them on the official addons.mozilla.org page :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
P.S.: You are definately not stupid !

Does the Add-ons site say you need to get Firefox?
Next to your post, in Question Details > More System Details, your Firefox "user agent" string shows some extra text:
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:65.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/65.0 anonymized by Abelssoft 345010098
Based on research for a past thread, I think the extra text is from the "AntiBrowserSpy" program advertising itself. Mozilla sites and some other sites may not recognize that you are using Firefox due to that extra text.

Can you tell us which add-on(s) you want to download ?
(in your original post it doesn't sound like you were on the AMO page .... )
And again : no, you are definately not stupid !
I trie for "Video Downloader professional" . There is a green button in the first rightside Tab. But this link leads to the firefox download page. it says "Nur in Firefox – Laden Sie Firefox jetzt herunter"
May ist really this bloody Antispy program. But this was not supposed to have any effect on firefox. Ill check!
I have no idea what page it is that you are on, but this is the add-on you're talking about (I hope ... ) :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloader-profession/
I don't know what that page looks like in German, but do you see that blue button that says '+ Add to Firefox' ?
Would you click on it and see what happens ?
Extensions that do not have a "Remove" button are installed globally by other software and are not under control of the Firefox extension manager. Globally installed extensions are usually found via a registry scan or are installed in a location that Firefox scans for installed extensions.
- https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/Distribution_options/Add-ons_in_the_enterprise
Extensions installed globally need to be removed via the settings (Options/Preferences) of the program that has added this extension or this program has to be uninstalled via "Control Panel -> Programs". In Firefox you can only disable such an extension.
You can find the install location of a specific extension in the extensions.json file in the profile folder. You can open the extensions.json file in the Scratchpad and search for this extension. The path field lists its install location.
Tks, the problem was this antispy program "googleclean" from Abelsoft. As ist prolongated my "user agent" string the add on site did not recognize that i was using firefox. In this caes the blue button "add to firefox" is not displayed. Instead a green button appears "availyble only in firefox" which leads to the download site for firefox istself. After deinstalling the Antiospy program everything worked fine. So i'll have a chat with Abelsoft. on the other side : Perhaps the scan of the "user agent" string in the add on site could be a little bit more refined.
Thanks again Franz Josef

Thanks a lot, that hint solved the problem. I did not realize, that this antispy programm was fumbling arount in a region where it definitely should'nt.
I'll have a chat with Abelsoft on this problem. On the otherhand a little bit more refinement when parsing the user agent string would prevent this problem as well.
Again thnks a lot.
