Hello,

I have to download a large amount of files. Each file has a different name. However, there are so many files that I do not necessarily have the overview. I therefore use the Firefox function "Save all files in the following folder". But every file that already exists will be renamed to "filename- (1) .ext" after a new download. It would be better, then, to refuse the download and then not download this file.

Is there a parameter for this to cancel the automatic rename?

With kind regards Jens Geier

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.

Only if you would disable automatic download and confirm each download it is possible to prevent Firefox from adding the number. If you set to save each file automatically to a specific folder then you can't prevent getting a sequence number appended. So it is about having to confirm each download or removing numbered downloaded files.
