TB won't launch after windows update
Had this issue a few times over the last 6 months. TB was working fine then stopped launching. Fairly certain it was soon after a windows update the first and third time, but not 100% certain on the other.
Have tried launching in safe mode - nothing - and run as administrator - nothing. Have manually closed all TB processes in TaskManager, have deleted the Parent.lock file, plus a few others that were recommended as a fix... still nothing. Reinstalled TB each time and created/copied profile folders in/out as well without any success.
Going by the posts around the web this seems to be a recurring problem for a lot of users?
First time it happened I just went to webmail instead and I noticed TB started working again a few weeks later. Last time I installed some other email clients trying to find a replacement for TB and in the process of doing that, TB started working again?
Hoping someone can shed some light on this for me, as I'd really like to keep using TB, but not really practical if this is going to be a recurring issue?

What's the antivirus program? It's possible, and quite likely, that a Windows update made the AV incompatible with TB, especially if the AV is scanning the TB profile folder (not recommended, so add the profile as an exception or exclusion). Running Windows in safe mode is worth trying to test the possible interference of startup apps, such as AV, online backup etc.
Thanks for the suggestions... already disabled the AV and made no difference. Tried safe mode but no go their either. Interestingly, tried installing a different email client (Zimbra) and it won't launch either.
Got TB installed on a different machine running Windows 10 and that seems to be working OK for now. Bit of a pain as my archives, filters etc are all on the old computer... where I do most of my work so guess the best option will be to upgrade to Windows 10 on that machine as well.
