when I click the star to bookmark a page, it is saved to the library. I want to save it to the bookmarks toolbar at the top left of my screen. How can I do that?

Thanks

The Library is the Bookmarks manager and not a specific location for saving a bookmark. Current Firefox releases normally save the bookmark to the last used folder and remembers this location in browser.bookmarks.defaultLocation on the about:config page.

The "Edit This Bookmark" dialog that opens if you click the highlighted star has a checkbox with "Show editor when saving" (shortcut key in the dialog is Alt+S). This item is at the bottom just above "Remove Bookmark" and "Done".
