I changed my settings to archive the emails for my IMAP account locally:

Copies& folders -> Message archives -> "Archives" folder on: local folders -> archive options; yearly archived folders

I then highlighted all of the emails that I wanted to archive, and selected the "archive" button at the bottom right. I watched as it went through the process, displaying each year that it was archiving. Once done I went to look for the local archive folder for that account, but I can't find it. The emails went somewhere, as they are no longer in my inbox.

Where could these emails have gone? Also, what directory path would I look for them in windows explorer?

Okay, it appears I figured out the first question; I expected to see a local archive folder appear under the account that was archived, but instead it is a folder for all of the accounts, found at the bottom. I'm guessing I'll have to do some manual organizing.

However, I'd still like to know what directory path I could find them in via windows explorer...

when you find them they will be a collection of mbox files with one per folder. Still want to know?

Open the troubleshooting information on the help menu. click on the open profile folder entry in the troubleshooting information. open the mail folder, then the archive folder.
