Performance issue in current version 91.1.0
I am using Thunderbird on Linux (Arch and Manjaro, 64bit) with several IMAP accounts for a couple of years. I recently updated version 78.14 to 91.1.0 (btw, why this huge jump in verson number?)
The new version is VERY sluggish, almost unuseable. Browsing in emails, browsing in the folder pane, shifting of emails to folders, is extremly slow, a pain. Anyone else experiencing this? They broke Thunderbird. I also have issues with some meeting invitations sent by the GMail app on Android which open the wrong window when clicked upon.
Hasn't this version been tested before release?? This is really bad.
I will either downgrade to the old version or look for another solution.

There are some random bug reports of slowness in scrolling the folder list and message list, but none as far as I know about changing folders. (I've been using it for a year and not had performance issues).
1. If you have gmail accounts, have you unsubscribed the "All Mail" account?
2. Have you installed any Thunderbird language packs?
3. Which AV are you using?
Hy Wayne,
thanks for your reply.
I have been using Thunderbird for years, but slowness is just since version 91.1.
For your questions: 1. If you have gmail accounts, have you unsubscribed the "All Mail" account? No, it's my own mail server. No changes to this from previous version to 91.1. This is not the reason.
2. Have you installed any Thunderbird language packs? Yes, German language pack. Again, this had been the case for years.
3. Which AV are you using? AV?
Today, Manjaro updated Thunderbird and it runs a bit faster now, but still slower than before. I really do not understand why well-running software is getting screwed up with major version jumps.

Language packs are known to cause performance issues. As a temporary measure, removing the language pack will likely help your problem.
