I have connected an Office365 account to Thunderbird. IMAP is working OK, but SMTP is not downloading to Thunderbird when messages are sent from outlook.office.com When I click on GET MESSAGES in Thunderbird, in the sent items folder, messages that I sent via outlook.office.com do not download.

Thunderbird version: 127.0esr My Thunderbird SMTP settings are: Server Name: smtp.office365.com Port: 587 User Name: [name@domain] Authentication method: OAuth2 Connection Security: STARTTLS

Downloading of received messages via IMAP is working OK.

Note that I have 12 accounts running in Thunderbird. No problems with the 11 Google Workspace and Gmail accounts. The problem only occurs with my MS365 account.

From what I've seen, some accounts using Microsoft mail servers seem to require enabling SMTP somewhere in order to be able to use it with a mail client.

Ah wait, you seem to be using the wrong terminology here… SMTP is for sending, you seem to be talking about dowloading from it…

The Sent folder should be visible in Thunderbird if you've set up the account as IMAP (not if you set it up as POP). Right-click on the account in the folder pane and choose Subscribe. Does the Sent folder appear there? Select the folders you want to appear in Thunderbird, click the Subscribe button, then OK, and see whether that solves the problem.
