How do I change from POP3 to IMAP? I re-installed Thunderbird and want to enable IMAP functionality.

Web examples show a home screen I do not have. I assume they are starting from a system that did not have Thunderbird installed which gives a different home screen. I had a previoussly installed Thunderbird program. It starts up with the POP3 function by default. How do I handle this? Art Towslee

You cannot change an account from POP to IMAP or from IMAP to POP. Instead, you must set up a new account. If you click the hamburger menu in upper right, click 'new account>email, fill in email address and your name, the option for IMAP or POP will appear on next pane after pressing enter key.
