As this is just a user help forum it's good to have past version as not all OS can use current and some users can test or see what still works for their older OS. And it's also a preservation of past version for anyone to see what was there to the newest version. But most time people don't use those links unless it's OS specific that can install up to a FF version if user want to do that.

The items on this page are ordered alphabetically, so you can easily find all related releases. Since items overlap like the ESR releases where the next version is released at the same time of the related release what would cause all those ESR releases (128.1.0, 128.2.0, 128.3.0 etc.) to be scattered all around the page and not be grouped.

Please indulge this silly question. What possible benefit is there for Mozilla continuing to list this page with the very first, oldest Firefox release at the the top

The 0.10 and 0.10.1 is not the oldest in the list actually as it was a preview releases of Firefox 1.0. The 0.8 release is the oldest in the list as it was when the browser changed name for second time to Firefox as it was Phoenix > Firebird > Firefox.

The http://ftp.mozilla.org was from when the ftp:// protocol was in use till Mozilla depreciated the FTP protocol August 5th, 2015

What possible benefit is there for Mozilla continuing to list this page with the very first, oldest Firefox release at the the top, requiring the user, every time they visit, to scroll to the middle of the page to search out the current latest version instead of having the chronological order from latest to oldest instead?
