I have same problems with firefox. No, I'am not an expert, I do know nothing about computers. he only thing I want is a browser that is working and Firefox isn't working good at the moment. no, ,ot at the moment, for several days! Everything that is suggested to solve the problem don't work. Even I, a supporter of Firefox won't wait for ever till everything is working correct.
Hey Morbus you STUPID ****. Nobody wants to spend hours and hours out of their day filled with frustration, uninstalling, reinstalling, disabling this and that, just to get something as simple as browsing the web to work properly. That shit is supposed to be the job of the DEVs. You talk alot of shit on Chrome, but it runs way smoother than the Fox 99% of the time. How about Firefox's endless "features" that bog down the whole browsing experience? You act like more tabs in Chrome takes up more ram and more tabs in Firefox doesn't... what? It is SUPER CLEAR that Firefox is slowly getting worse by each revision. Wake up you ****** TOOL.

Anonymous, I can't understand how you'd think that insulting the people who are trying to help will get you anywhere at all, but in this case, it has worked. If you are having problems with Firefox, please read this post here. It will probably take you less than a minute, if you follow my instructions, for you to make a preliminary diagnosis, and it shouldn't take much longer to fix it, or eliminate the source of the problem. Unless your problem is more complicated (safe mode without add-ons has the same issue), in which case it will take you less than a minute to know you need to follow these instructions, which will take another whole minute. Please report back the results so I can help you further. Thank you for your understanding.
Im getting alot of crashes to with my upgraded Firefox. I left internet explorer for Firefox but now it seems the new internet explorer 8 is better than the latest firefox. Ive tried them both on the same site and video is acting real bad with Firefox and the Internet explorer 8 is running very smooth. What gives ? It is a Firefox problem because problems did not happen until I upgraded. and it is happening as the Plugin-Container is active .
before update -> flash games/etc all fine and dandy
after update- > multiple plugin-container.exe's running and taking up 30% cpu each even when just 1 tab is open. the flash games are horrible slow at loading and clicking on anything to do an action will happen 10 seconds after clicking..
I don't really care how this new plugin thing is supposed to work, but what pisses me off is the cpu hog exe killing the rest of my computer. And no it's not my computer being bad. Unless you think a 3ghz core2duo shouldn't be able to play 1 single flash game =.=
Yes it suck memory like Drunk sucks Beer.plugin-container.exe is not working right and if I disable Firefox plugins(including Flash) and all the rest(themes disabled)and it still happens. there a major resource problem with tabs. Ten tabs and 80% of my memory gone I got 6 gigs people. and it use way to much cpu, Using 88% nothing else running. What ever the last few update did is making it worse not better. It dose not take rocket Scientist to realize you change something and are being stubborn and refusing to notice. Quit acting like Microsoft snd fix it or roll back the code and check out and fire which developer driving a New Sports Car becouse that would be the guy working for Microsoft.
plugin-container.exe Nice idea put in beta till works rather have browser crash than my whole PC!
I actually sat there, blaming the Adobe flash update. I refused to even consider it was my FF. Must be fixed!
Done with Firefox...
I'm either going to use Chrome or downgrade to 3.6.5
As people said, it stands for the greater plugins managing. But the cost is too high, takes 100-200MB of RAM in almost everytime using Firefox. Currently my FF 200MB and this container takes 100MB.
One of important thing that make people choose a browser is resource optimization... IE 's got too much separate execute process running, take a lot of RAM. Now FF take a quite lotta RAM to compare itself in past... I just want a good browser+full standard functions and less RAM requires.
Opera or Chrome I used, now I've one more reason for switch my choice... But not now, I still use Firefox.
Morbus, I disabled all of my plug-ins. And FF went back to working fine. But if the plugin-container has no plug-ins of course it is not going to be a problem.
Enabled Adobe Flash and plugin-container is taking 52% of my cpu. Adobe Shockwave Flash is up to date according to the link that was posted.
THis sucks.
Morbus, one more thing. Usually when you post a fix and it helps some people you will get people say that the fix worked and it helped them. Not one of those in here, and I tried it didn't work for me and Since no one replied it didn't work for them.
Firefox 3.6.6 Tried new profile and still happens.
Just sayin'
Connie.
It seems obvious to me that you're having a problem with Flash. Please contact Adobe for support.
If you have Silverlight or Quicktime (the other two plugins that use the container) installed, you can try browsing a site that uses them, and see if they too create this problem. Please report back the results.
I will also have you know that the plugin container is working perfectly on my end, with Flash enabled. Apparently, and although it may not be the case in your computer, Flash 10.1 has some compatibility problems due to things like hardware acceleration, introduced with the latest version. But I can't give you advice on that, because I lack knowledge on the Flash plugin.
Also, re-installing Firefox, or creating a new profile won't affect installed plugins. Plugins, unlike extensions and themes, are system dependent, and should be uninstalled in the operating system's control panel. In other words, all the plugins you have on your profile, will be there on new profiles (and enabled), even if you have them disabled in your own profile. This sort of behavior is common across all browsers, even though it's a huge pain in the bottom and probably confusing for some users.
Connie:
Disable plugin-container.exe
https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/706123?#threadId706192
Disabling the plugin container is not recommended, as it will eliminate plugin isolation and will allow Flash and other plugins to crash Firefox as a whole, whenever they crash. Be mindful of that when (if) you disable the plugin container.
Also, there is no garantee that disabling the plugin container will make your problems disappears, particularly if they are caused by faulty plugins or some sort of incompatibility between the plugins and your system.
By disabling plugin-container.exe they will know whether that is causing their problems. It can always be reenabled if the problem continue.
I have it enabled and no problems. Just a suggestion to try. Of course I dont open multiple pages with Flash content as some of indicated --- why would u want to do that anyway?
Morbus, I do respect you for all the efforts in solving this problem.
But most people don't want to "mess" with their browser. It simply has to work. They don't know how to do these things and are afraid to do them.
And yes, I want also just a working browser without these things. I tried severall things but nothing worked and I don't want to do things I don't know what the results are for my compi.
