I recently logged on to the website test IPv6 .com to ascertain how my system will cope with the new IP system. This is the reply I recieved: 'You appear to be able to browse the IPv4 internet only. You will not be able to reach IPv6-only sites.

ⓘ Your IPv6 connection appears to be using Teredo, a type of IPv4/IPv6 gateway; currently it connects only to direct IP's. Your browser will not be able to go to IPv6 sites by name. This means the current configuration is not useful for browsing IPv6 web sites.'

Will Firefox have to be modified to overcome this problem?

Firefox can use IPv6 if the DNS servers of your ISP support it.

I can't figure out how to get ipv6.com to tell me about my connection, but kame.net and sixxs.net both tell me I am using IPv4. I believe I have the same problem.

I am using Ayiya to tunnel to IPv6, and when I run Opera side by side with Firefox, I see the IPv6 versions of sites so enabled in Opera, while Firefox continues to show me only IPv4.

I have tried net.dns.disableIPV6 both false and true, and get the same behavior. Is there any other setting I can change? I am running Ubuntu 10.04 and Firefox 3.6.13 /NoScript 2.0.9.7 . I am running OpenDNS as my name server, but wouldn't both browsers be equally affected if that or another network-related problem was the culprit?
