Every time I open firefox or try to go to my home page from another page or tab 2 tabs open up trying to get to the exact same home page. This does not happen on my other Mac.

Firefox can store multiple home pages, check your list of home pages and change it so that only one home page is stored. For details see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
