After updating to Firefox 3.6.15, Firefox will not connect to the Internet, even after uninstalling and re-installing Firefox in my Windows XP environment.
After downloading the Firefox 3.6.15 update, my problems began. Firefox would not connect to the Internet. When I rebooted my PC, Firefox said that it couldn't access any Web sites. I uninstalled Firefox, then downloaded and installed Firefox 3.6.15. I still have the same problem: Firefox will not connect to the Internet. I am running Windows XP, service pack 3. I never had problems with Firefox until I installed version 3.6.15.

This did not solve my problem. How can I install Firefox version 3.6.14? Version 3.6.14 worked just fine.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.
I have XP Pro. I tried installing 3.6.15 and could not open it. I did a system restore and 3.6.14 would no longer open. I tried again installing 3.6.15 and got a message that the previous version had not uninstalled properly. Tried uninstalling. As a precaution I used MozBackup to save my bookmarks etc. and also saved a system restore point. I then clicked Start, My Computer, drive C, Program Files and deleted the Firefox folder. I installed 3.6.15 and it is now working fine with all my bookmarks and addons loaded automatically.
I have this problem after running the update I am on Windows 7 64 bit with Sophos Endpoint Antivirus.
I solved the problem by re-installing Firefox version 3.6.14.
