v 4.01 is unable to load / render edition.cnn.com . Cookies and cache have been emptied. Other browsers (IE 8, Chrome 10.x) load / render properly.
us.cnn.com loads properly.
edition.cnn.com doesn't load with FF 4.01 but loads with IE 8 and Chrome 10.x.
This isn't the first time I've seen this behavior. I wonder if it might be linked to upgrading FF versions...

Works perfectly for me and no trouble switching from International to U.S. and back again. Win7x64 Fx4.0.1 .
Do you have problems with any other sites?
We'll need more information about your set-up.
No, this is the only site I regularly visit that FF has problems with.
Win XP SP-3, FF 4.0.1.
What additional info do you need about my setup? I copy-pasted the help > troubleshooting information in the first post.
Sorry. I missed your system details.
You may need more expert help but Vuze and Conduit Engine often feature as problems on this forum. You should try them in the Search Firefox Help box above.
You could also try Firefox Safe Mode - hold down the Shift key as you double click the Firefox icon to open Firefox. Don't check any of the boxes. If it works you'll need to disable Add-ons progressively to find the culprit(s) or conflicts.
A bit of housekeeping - you should remove all the Java Consoles except the latest one.
Thanks very much for the directions, Alan. I'll get cracking on it now.
Cheers Jim
For the Java Console extensions see:
You can also disable the Java Quick Starter extension: Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions
- Control Panel -> Java -> Advanced tab -> Miscellaneous -> Java Quick Starter (disable)
See:
- http://www.java.com/en/download/help/quickstarter.xml - What is Java Quick Starter (JQS)? What is the benefit of running JQS? - 6.0
Folks, I think the problem is actually related to the known bug (feature?) of wyciwyg referenced elsewhere on the site. Clearing the cache from the menu didn't fix things, and I ran out of time and patience to go in for manual housekeeping.
24 hours later, edition.cnn.com loads properly again If it doesn't, there's plenty of info on wyciwyg so I think this incident can be closed.
Thanks to all for your help!
