After my version got upgraded automatically I am unable to run the application. I double-click the desktop icon and then nothing happens. I also do not find the Firefox executable in the running programs in the Task Manager panel.

Can you advise precisely which version of Firefox you are using e.g. 3.6.18 ?

You could try right clicking on the desktop icon and then clicking "Open". You could also look at the Icon's properties to see if anything looks odd.

Another simple thing to try is to create a new icon via your Start Menu or Program Folder.

You will probably need to do a complete uninstall/re-install. Download your new version first to your desktop, then uninstall preserving your preferences etc. Then install.
