When I attempt to put my computer into hibernation it will power down and then immediately resume. The only thing that has changed is the most recent update from firefox. I have installed nothing else. I can put it into hibernation by closing the lid, but at least once, it did the same thing it does when I use the power button (which is my hibernate button) which is to power down and then immediately go into resuming windows. If you need other information please contact me, as I have absolutely no idea why it has suddenly begun to do this. Although I marked "not sure how often" that is incorrect but none of the options applied and it wouldn't allow me to continue without putting something it there. It does this every time I try to hibernate it.

Does this happen even when Firefox isn't running when you hibernate it?

I think so...I've been doing some experimenting...the first time this happened, I thought that it was just a glitch in something. After I shut down the computer completely, it doesn't do it...a day or so ago, there was an update applied by firefox and it seemed that it started doing it again after that. However, this doesn't make sense to me. I shut the computer down a while ago and now it is hibernating fine again. I tried shutting it down after I logged on and it worked fine. I've opened firefox and it is still working fine. I've also opened my outlook and it doesn't appear to be causing it. I believe that something I am opening might be doing this even though the program itself is shut down, although I have no idea how unless the computer believes it is still on. The only other program I run, is MSWord and MSN messenger, which is open now and I can still hibernate. I figured that the this was a long shot but thought I would ask. So I think the answer to your question is yes, it happens even when I don't have firefox open. I've shut everything down and tried to hibernate it and it won't do it once this starts happening. I'm completely out of ideas.
