How do I get rid of a crsor that looks like a hand from a cartoon?

This hand has just appeared and I hate it. How can I get rid of it and go back to my regular mac cursor?

Websites can set a custom mouse pointer, so that may have been a leftover from a visit.

Is that a mouse pointer or a cursor that you see on a web page or text area or do you mean an icon?

It's a mouse pointer. Interestingly, it disappeared when I powered down my system and re-started the next day and still hasn't returned.

So the problem seems to have been resolved.
