Updated to 9.0.1. Terribly Slow
Mac 10.5.8. Used Firefox for years. Decided update to Firefox 9.0.1. two days ago. Immediately it took forever to load webpages. Sometimes hangs. I've done and checked everything I can think of and read what I could find. I'd like to go back to the previous version if there is no fix to this.
Can someone please help me? Thank you.

mha007, I apologize for the long delay in responding - family emergency. Thank you very, very much for your help! I now have done everything you suggested. I also ran an anti-virus, etc. program in the off chance I had a problem on that front. Everything is clean. I still have the problem with Firefox 10 taking forever to load. Certain webpages still display in an odd manner - as a result the log in boxes are misaligned so I cannot log in.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Try download the latest version and check if the problem still occur :
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
1. Download the new copy of Firefox program(10.0.2) from the above link
2. Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install.
3. Install the new version that you have downloaded.
