I installed Firefox 18.0.1 on a Sparc 10 Ultra running Solaris 10, bash shell. There were no installation errors, but when I try to run firefox, I get:

XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /opt/sfw/fiewfox/libxpcom.so: ld.so.1: firefox: fatal: libc.so.1: open failed: No such file or directory Couldn't load XPCOM

Any help would be appreciated.

Right now I'm trying to install a PGX32 graphics card that will enable 24 bit pixel depths. If I can get that to work, that may resolve my Firefox issues since they seem to revolve around graphics drivers. Thanks for the great suggestions. I'm continuing to work this.

UPDATE

I got the PGX32 card working, set a 24 bit pixel depth and started Firefox. Now all the colors turn up correctly and the window looks normal. So it looks like FF is using a 24 bit colormap and not checking the system pixel depth.

With that problem solved, I can go back to the original question, which was why FF 18.0.1 won't start.
