My website www.photoniccontrols.com will not load wallpaper, Spry menu bar or images in Firefox OS X, but does so in Firefox Windows. Discovered this via Adobe Browser Lab and have changed load time to 30 seconds, still does not load. In process of launching new website but discovering same problem is occurring. Is there a specific code I can insert to target this loading issue in Firefox OS X?

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings and that you allow pages to choose their colors in Firefox.

  • Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

I have checked all of those settings, but no change.

I attached two screenshots- one showing how the Adobe BrowserLab previews the unlaunched webpage via Firefox OS X, and the second image showing how it previews the page via Firefox Windows. Obviously a big difference and problem for interacting with the webpage- no images, wallpapers, or even the Spry menu bar will appear.

Does it work if you upload the page to internet and open it directly in Firefox?

You can also try to use the Net log in the Web Console in Firefox and check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" page to see if there is a problem with the images.

Our company uses Windows devices, so I have no way of verifying the Mac FIrefox OS X appearance. I use the Adobe Browser Lab website to check the appearance of the website via other systems and browsers, and that is how I discovered the problem.

Therefore, I do not believe this is an issue specific to my Firefox settings, rather, it is more likely how Firefox OS X itself interprets my web page. I am wondering if there is HTML code to specifically address this browser on this device?

Thanks.

Seems to look fine here when tested with Firefox 19 on Mac via browsershots.org.

You're right, it appears to work using browsershots test. I wonder why Adobe Browser Lab appears differently. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!
