My homepage comes up but my search engine doesn't work

Please update to Firefox 20 Update Firefox to the latest release immediately, then Reset Firefox Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
How do i reset Firefox?

Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
