When I'm running Firefox, it'll slow down to the point where it's doing nothing. If I check in task manager under "applications" it shows two instances of Firefox, both of which are "not responding". If I click on "go to process" it shows that the second firefox is being operated by "Explorer.exe". I'm running windows XP.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
