I changed Firefox (23.0.1) to my default browser and it replaced ALL IE 8 icons with Firefox icons. I want my IE icons restored. How do I fix this?

After changing Firefox to my default browser, all my icons for Internet Explorer were replaced with Firefox icons. This includes Task Bar Quick Launch icons, Start menu icons, and Desktop icons. (OS is XP SP3)

I never gave it permission to do this and if I had known it would do this, I would have never set it as my default. Too invasive!!!

How do I restore my icons to exactly how they were before FF walked all over my computer?

Yes it changes the icons of HTML files, but not the IE shortcut, have you tried making IE your defualt browser again.

I checked my computer and all HTML file icons and shortcuts to various URLs have changed to Firefox icons. Annoying, but not as nearly as annoying as replacing all my IE shortcuts with Firefox shortcuts.

I searched my computer for IE8 and created new shortcuts, but I no longer have the full right-click properties control (to clear history/cookies/temp files and other settings) that I used to have with the IE icon pinned to my Start Menu.

Very annoying and very intrusive of Firefox. If I wanted a cr***y invasive browser I'd use Chrome.

What gives Mozilla? Do I just make IE my default browser since at least it doesn't step all over my other browsers?
