Shockwave - fixes don't fix so why lock it?
Seems all the topics on Shockwave are locked, and one is marked gaving a dozen things to 'try'.
I have had 3 updates to, FF, updated, uninstalled, updated, renewed FF, Shockwave, Silverlight, installed, uninstalled, safe mode, unsafe-mode (verses safe mode) - it still messes up and hangs.
This has been a problem for two years, and for two years Moz depended on it's users to fix it.
One topic on the matter says that when Moz re-opened the topic found 15,000 hits in a week, would that not suggest that there is a BIG problem with Moz including Sockwave in FF? I've been a fan of Moz since the first Netscape, and there is really nothing else out there that doesn't take over our computers and try to read our minds (almost - probably not far away).
I tried every fix available, except switch to - uggggg - Chrome and try to hide some of my private life from Googoyle.
But I'm sad to say, I'm on my way, Won't be back not any a day My heart is down, my head is turning around I had to leave for the next best browser in town.

Darn - and Moz FF was the only browser I ever trusted, and would gladly pay for - if it worked.

Sorry your journey of the last 2+ years with Abobe Shockwave Flash on Mozilla has been so bumpy. As phillip already mentioned, my opinion is that the Flash Plugin for Mozilla browsers went to hell when the "protected-mode" was instituted by Adobe.
The good news is that Mozilla is working very diligently on getting rid of the need for a 3rd party plugin for SWF files. That project is code named Shumway.

hello, maybe it's an issue with the protected mode that adobe as introduced for its flash plugin for firefox in june 2012 - you could try if disabling protected mode makes a difference.
