firefox always hangs or freezes on youtube videos
Youtube videos always hang or freeze in firefox after playing for a couple of seconds. If I don't touch it they usually start playing again after a while, but any clicking on the container to try and use the controls etc will freeze firefox again. I don't often get a crash report as I have to force quit. Windows usually reports that plugincontainer.exe has stopped working. Have tried using the flash player addon to force youtube to use flash instead of html5, have tried uninstalling flash completely, have reinstalled up to date version of flash, have updated graphics drivers, have disabled hardware acceleration in flash player. Each time still always get the same issue.
Here is the last crash report that I did get from this issue: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/a80058f1-8bab-4464-8fce-a8dbc2151016

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
- make sure you have the latest Flash version:
http://www.adobe.com/special/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html - check for updates for your graphics drive drivers
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration - disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Windows Vista and later)
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/adobe-flash-protected-mode-firefox - disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html - disable hardware acceleration in Firefox

I'm afraid I have already tried everything on that list (I mentioned 3 of them in my original post).
Also, have used AVG, malwarebytes and spybot to clean up the PC (including in safe mode).
What happens if you use the HTML5 media player that would YouTube offer by default to current Firefox releases?
Does Firefox then crash as well or don't you see the video?
Yes it behaves the same with the default HTML5 player. (hence attempting to fix it by making it use flash instead).
What security software do you have?
It is possible that Anti-Virus or other security software is causing problems.
