When I open Firefox it hangs up on the start page and I can't do anything
the computer seems to be in an endless loop. this started several days ago. It worked fine in the morning, and later in the day the above problem started.

Are you using the default Home Page? Or one that you set?
I'm not sure how to answer that. I have been using firefox for several years. I guess it is the default home page. Also, now I am getting a firefox search page whenever I try to start Firefox. I am using Internet Explorer to get to the internet and answer my mail. If I start over, and download Firefox from the beginning, will I lose anything?
I am comfortable now back using Internet explorer.
However, if I decide to go back to the Firefox browser, can I just download Firefox from the start without any problems?
