Gmail stopped working with thunderbird. Says wrong password, but its the right password. What's wrong with it? It used to work
So it used to work just fine in thunderbird and it started saying the password is wrong, but its not wrong. I checked it on the gmail site and my phone and its not wrong.
I removed it and tried adding it again, but it still says the password is wrong. I added the gmail account to microsoft outlook 2013 and it works just fine.
What is going on? I think it may have been due to an update or something.

What is your account type, POP or IMAP?
Set 'Authentication Type' to 'OAuth2' in your Thunderbird Gmail account settings for both, incoming (IMAP) and outgoing server (SMTP).

It already is on there when I try to setup the email account. Doesn't work :(
Please post your Troubleshooting Information. At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button , then select Help > Troubleshooting Information. Press the Copy text to clipboard button and paste the information into your reply.
Keep in mind the gmail account isn't added but it wouldn't let me after I removed it.

usually when you start out of the blue getting password errors and you have not changed your password your anti virus has croaked and is messing up the connection.
Try the operating system in safe mode with Networking. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX
