I want my most used sites to be displayed when I open a new tab, I have the settings correct, and for a brief second when I go to a new tab, it displays them and then my homepage loads itself......... I have checked the "COG" when I open the new tab and the settings are correct, although, I have to click the cog very quickly or the homepage takes over.

Only an extension can change the new tab page.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
