With TB 52 the reply function does not work anymore.

Does the problem go away if you start THunderbird in safe mode? From the Help menu ...
OK. In the safe mode all is fine. Back in full mode, I just tried to deactivate the add-ons one after another. That did not seem to help.

That's it! Display Contact Photo 1.3.1 causes the problem. All other add-ons activated again and my setup is working properly. Thanks very much, guys!!!
