I have the same problem as here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1131091, except that the firefox window doesn't show up at all on the taskbar. I tried to rename the xulstore.json and localstore.rdf after I kill the firefox process in the task manager. Then I restart firefox, and it works, although I had to reset my toolbars' showed/hidden preferences. However, when I close the firefox's main window and tried to run it again, this time it failed: no matter how I rename the xulstore.json and localstore.rdf, the problem persisted: no firefox window showed up on the taskbar. The resolution in the archived post only worked for once. It failed for the second and other times.

Big time Video Card Driver issues. It looks like you have a Intel on-board Video Card and it is still active. It should be turned off in Bios after updating it's drivers. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81496/Intel-HD-Graphics-4600 You will have to determine if do not know what cpu chip running. Can use Cpu-Z https://www.cpuid.com/ to find out.

Your other card needs updated drivers http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/116704/en-us to fix all your issues below.

SO fix your drivers and see if Firefox still runs. If not Please uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. (we hope) https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data Then reinstall https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I'll try updating my video drivers some time later when I have time. Now after updating to 52.5 ESR the problem seems to be solved, although I'm not 100% sure.

By the way, do you think the video driver issue is a possible cause of my other question https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1181780 ? Thanks again!
