March 19 update broke the calendar for me, can't check "google" in the calendar list and it looks... bad.

Thunderbird updated as usual and now all I have is a super ugly calendar with a 1990's UI from the "events and tasks" menu that doesn't pull in any google calendar data. When I display the calendar list sidebar the "google" checkbox option is disabled so I can't get any of my events to show up.

Anyone know what happened and how to get things working again? I've read dozens of articles and forum posts, and links to "how to fix calendar" don't help.

I've never had to use the "provider for google calendar" - is this something new? Do I need to install this to get the calendar to work? I'm hesitant because of all the bad reviews and can't risk losing my google calendar data.

I've been using Thunderbird for years and apart from some mysterious slow downs, email and calendar have always worked great until now.

The properties box opens but that option, and all other options, are disabled.

When not using the Provider add-on, how exactly do you access your Google calendar?

Right-click the Google Calendar - Properties Check the box 'Switch this calendar on'.

Ok, I made a mistake. Turns out I was using the Open Google Calendar addon and the new update uninstalled it (and it had been so long since I installed it that I forgot I was using it.)

I just figured this out, and after reinstalling the addon everything is back the way it was - modern calendar, pulls in all my google entries, smooth sailing.

Thanks for helping none the less, I appreciate your time.
