In creating a contact link how does on keep those contacts contained to this lsit and not still be visible among the other contacts in the main address book?

Have already created a contact list that shows under the main address book. The contacts I have chosen for this list do in fact show in this list as I would want it to. However these contacts also cause a clutter when they also remain in my main address book.

The specific question is-- How do I keep contacts for a contact list to stay in that particular list and not be in both places?

Every contact in a mailing list is added to the address book in which the list is defined. But you can create a new address book and move the list contacts from the main address book to the new one by drag and drop (hold Ctrl while doing this to copy, not move). In the new address book, create a mailing list, name it and close it. Then add the contacts to the list by dragging them from the address book and dropping them onto the list icon.

Hmmm.. I think I followed those directions to the letter and all I got was duplication.

Once the mailing list is created in the new address book, you can delete the list and contacts in the main address book if you like.

The point of this was to move the list and contacts out of the main book.

Here's what I've created.

Nothing seems to leave the main address book. If I copy them over they will do so but remain a copy behind. If I delete from either place they disappear from both places.

It looks like you've got both the CDL and TEST mailing lists in the same address book, which explains why deleting from one deletes from the other.

The suggestion was to create a new address book, name it and close it, then move contacts from the main book to the new one by drag and drop onto the new book icon, then create a new mailing list in the new book, name it and close it, then add to the new list by dragging and dropping from the new address book onto the new list icon.

Would you also know how to make all the contact when highlighted and choosing write to make them all BBC?

It's not possible to Bcc from Address Book, but if you show the Contacts sidebar (F9) in a new message window, select the contacts or lists and then click Add to Bcc: at the bottom of the sidebar.
