Have this weird problem, kind of at a loss at what to do.

I had a working thunderbird setup with multiple e-mails on Windows 7, then upgraded ri Windows 10 (clean install), installed thunderbird and linked my profile folder.

At first glance everything seems fine, all my e-mails, folders, add-ons etc are intact. But clicking recieve mail doesn't work, no error messages or anything, I get a connected text on the status bar but that's it, no mail is recieved.

What I've cheked: folder security, thunderbird safe mode, firewall.

Don't know what else to do, all settings seem to be fine, it just doesn't work.

I also tried adding a new e-mail account and it does work fine. Removing one of my accounts and adding it again - doesn't work.

Sorry guys, found a solution just 10 minutes after posting - turns out it was the firewall after all (eset). Turning it off via menu option doesn't disable all of its functions, need to manually disable POP3S/IMAP4S filtering in the settings. Probably had this done on my previous installation but forgot about it.

Well, what I usually do is create an empty account. Then close Thunderbird.

First find the folder where this new account is it is usually here : %APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles\ (for example : C :\Users\<YourWindowsAccountName>\AppData\Roaming\)

I rename the folder profile that looks like "g5w1q9fv.default" in "g5w1q9fv.default.bak"

In the same folder, copy the old profile folder got from old windows. And rename it from "kjk456.default" to exact same name found before : "g5w1q9fv.default"

Then start Thunderbird. Let me know if something is wrong.
