Hello, When I start Firefox browser, it goes into a Bing browser. Did Microsoft Bing acquire Firefox? If not, how do I get it to start up in the Firefox browser? My internet browser default is set to Firefox.

Thank you and have a good day,

edit: removed email from search/spam bots view as this is a public forum and nobody here does support by email.

Never post any personal information because an adware robot could find it, and start sending you all kinds of spam. This includes e-mail, phone, and home information.

Please remove that information from your post.

Hi richdzintars, could you test whether your Firefox home page changed: after starting Firefox the usual way, if you launch a new window by pressing Ctrl+n (or using the Firefox icon on the Windows 10 Taskbar, right-click > Open new window), does Bing show up there as well?

If so, could you take a look at the home page setting and see whether you can set it back to the built-in Firefox Home page, if that's what you prefer? More info in this article: How to set the home page.

One possible change agent would be an add-on, so it's worth double-checking whether any snuck in. You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. On the right side, find the "Manage Your Extensions" heading.

Then cast a critical eye over the list below that heading. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything that mentions Bing, or search, or looks suspicious, or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove). For your privacy and security, don't let mystery programs linger here.

Any improvement?

Hi, you can change your homepage from the three lines menu at the top right, then go to options, home and set Firefox Home from the drop down menu (Homepage and new windows)

Bing is a search engine. Not a browser.

I think you are talking about your Home Page.
