I have Thunderbird Email on Windows 10. I had three folders I put bills in. Folders were part of Thunderbird email. I went to access three days ago looking for saved emails and folders have disappeared . I tried to add folders again but it does not look like I can do. Any ideas? What did I miss? I have used Thunderbird for a number of years with no issues.

The currently missing Folders were in one of the following accounts, but which one ?

  1. a Pop mail account
  2. an Imap mail account
  3. the 'Local Folders' mail account

re: I had three folders I put bills in. Are these 3 missing folders created as subfolders to another folder and you cannot see that folder as well or you see the top level folder but it's subfolders are missing? example:

  • BILLS (a top level folder that contains 3 subfolders)
  • >> House
  • >> Car
  • >> Online Purchases

Or the 3 missing folders not subfolders to anything other than the mail account....like the Inbox, Sent folders?


First - Check you have a view that displays all your folders. Menu app icon > View > Folders > 'All'

Thanks for the reply.

i have two IMAP . A Gmail and my provider Hurontel. After I read your email my folders all reappeared.

If I right click on a message I can again go to (move to} and can move emails to the three folders that were missing.

They have been missing for 5 days from what I have noticed. Could have been longer. All is well now.
