Dear Mozilla;

   A blind friend of mine has to use a screen reader on his Windows 10 Pro Refurbished computer, this screen reader being NVDA. He likes to use Mozilla Thunderbird on his computer, because NVDA will read what's there. However, recently whenever he has tried to do much on Thunderbird, like hitting the Tab key on his keyboard or getting out of an e-mail, he hears the words "Property Page" from NVDA (It might be "Properties Page", I really can't tell). It bugs him for that to happen as it didn't used to do that until recently. I tried putting Thunderbird and NVDA on an older Windows 8 laptop computer that someone gave me and the same thing happened there. When I switched tabs in Options it happened there also. That was Thunderbird version 68.something.
  I don't have any idea as to what version of Thunderbird or NVDA he is using as my blind friend lives 20 or so miles away from me. I don't know what else to tell you except apparently bringing his computer here is not an option.
 I tried a different free e-mail program for a while to test it on my laptop, and the same thing happened with it. I heard the words "Property Page" time and again. Sounds like the problem might be in an updated version of the screen reader, but I found out I better not say that to my blind friend because he says (and has several times) that the problem is NOT with NVDA. So I don't know what else to do except leave NVDA alone and reach out to you guys to see if you have any ideas, thoughts, or opinions. I don't know much about NVDA and don't know the keyboard commands he has to use to make it work.

Any info you can give me would be most appreciated!

Sincerely, Roy in Shelby, NC

As you've said it yourself, the same happens with a different email program. That is all the proof that's needed to confirm that this is not a Thunderbird problem. It sounds like your friend is in denial of facts. NVDA is in continued development just like Thunderbird, so how can he be so sure that it's Tbird's fault?
