I am unable to log into my Ally Bank accounts using the latest version of Firefox. Ally keeps coming back with an unable to process the request notice. I AM able to log in using an older version of Firefox and with Microsoft's Edge. I lowered my security threshold, cleared the cache and cookies and even tried private windows. None worked. The problem is ONLY with the newest version of Firefox as far as I can tell.

I did find that Microsoft put 3 items on my computer yesterday. However, when I go through the system to remove the latest updates, it puts them right back on so I can't see if Ally works without them. So it appears the problem is resolved as far as Firefox is concerned but not for me to get my work done.

Entering Firefox in Safe Mode let Ally Bank's software work. When I put it back, it is broken again. I also put all Firefox settings back to default with no luck. The big problem I have is that I don't do changes to my computer except mandatory updates for Windows 10 and when Firefox says I need to update. The ONLY thing I am aware of that changed from Feb 9, when I last logged in successfully, and today, is a Firefox update. Given that my Windows 7 computer that has a non-updated Firefox version works fine and logging into Ally Bank with an Edge browser, it would seem something is wrong in the latest update to Firefox.

I take it all back. Just trying to troubleshoot, I went ahead and updated my Windows 7 computer to Firefox 97 and it work fine. Of course there might be something in Windows 7 that lets it work but it appears Firefox 97 may not be the problem. I'll have to go check if Windows 10 downloaded something I was not aware of (I hate these forced upgrades!!).

I started having this issue as well. I tried many, MANY things to solve it, including calling their support team, and: - clearing cookies and cache - disabling addons - reinstalling Firefox - changing Firefox version - changing Firefox profile

None of the above worked... but there was one thing that did work: Restarting Firefox in troubleshooting mode using Help -> Troubleshoot Mode, log in successfully, then restart Firefox without Troubleshoot Mode.

This got it working again, and kept it working for ~2 days. After that time, the issue started happening again on log in, and the above had to be repeated to get it working again. So, this is a workaround, not a permanent fix.

EDIT: this post has been updated to remove unnecessary steps, and clarify based on subsequent testing that this is a workaround, not a permanent fix.

Fx-Wa It could have been a corrupt file that was overwritten.

That was very good work. Well Done.

I too am not able to log into my Ally account. I cleared the cookies/cache and that didn't solve the problem. I called Ally and they aren't seeing a problem on their end. I am, however, able to log in through Chrome. Apparently, this is a problem with the latest Firefox update. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM!

I do not believe this is a Firefox problem. I have another computer that I also updated with the latest Firefox (does not have Windows 10) and logging into Ally is fine. I personally also had one of those Windows 10 updates so I am assuming that is what caused the issue. I tried to delete the latest update, but it tells you to reboot, and when you do, it puts the update back on. Therefore I can't see if deleting the update solves the problem. Given Microsoft's record of releasing bad patches (several years ago they created a massive outage with companies and regular folk for several hours), I would suspect the patch is the problem.
