There was a thread on this topic, which, AFAICT, was erroneously marked "solved." We all know how to change the default download setting, via tools --> options --> general -->. The problem is, regardless of where one designates one's downloads, a Downloads folder is still created in My Documents every time we start up Firefox. I don't want this folder to be created. How can I stop it?

Windows may be recreating this. I always download to the deasktop but on both my XP and Vista computers I have that directory, though I've never used it, and have deleted it on both systems. (It was on the XP system even before I installed Firefox.)
