My pinned App Tabs do not reappear after I close and then reopen Firefox 4. Why is this happening? What can I do about it?

Using Firefox 4: I right-click on a tab to "pin as app tab." The new app tab appears as expected. But after I close and then reopen Firefox 4, my app tab(s) no longer appear. They go away. Repeated cycles of the above do not keep the app tabs present .

Advise on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have been having this problem on occasion for a while. (Most recently in firefox 7) I just discovered that I had a phantom firefox.exe process running for some reason. This has the same effect as closing your tabbed window before a non tabbed window. I killed the process and my app tabs magically work again.
