Need to reinstall; uninstall keeps saying close FIrefox but it isn't open?
FIrefox won't load, so I wanted to uninstall and re install it. However, in remove programs it is hung up and says "close Firefox" - well, it isn't open, so I'm stuck. Can you help? Thank you, Kathy

Close firefox.exe with the Windows Task Manager.
Ctrl+Alt+Del, choose Task Manager, then the Processes tab, select firefox.exe and use the "Del" key to end the running task.
Plug-in and tasks started by Firefox may continue after attempting to close Firefox. The "X" in the upper right-hand corner closes the Window (same as Ctrl+Shift+W) but even if it is the last Firefox window, it does not necessarily close Firefox .
The only proper way to exit Firefox is to use Exit through the File menu, not the "X" in the upper right corner of last Firefox window. In the Beta that would be Alt+F then X

"Restartless Restart" extension for Firefox 4.0 only (2 KB download ) is used when you want to end Firefox and immediately restart Firefox.
