Pages with photos overlap text blocks. IE does not
http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/unfairpark/schutze/ Try this site. Where it says "Top blog stories" the bylines overlap the story title. I always use Firefox, but I opened this in IE-9 or whatever it is I have, & it looks ok.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause issues like you described.
- Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
- Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
You can use one of these extensions to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages:

This actually works. It's just that it took me half a day to stumble upon the solution. There should be pages for simple questions labeled "For Dummies and others."
