How do I switch the position of the box that appears when you hover over a link to the lower left?

As asked above. The box / tooltip that shows status messages, urls for hovered-over links, etc. appears in the lower right. In older versions this info appeared in the lower left. Can I change it with about:config?

I just now noticed that on some windows it is on the left -- seemingly random. I want it on the left for all windows.

It depends on where you hover a link in the window.

The default is at the right side, but the pop-up can move to the left if you place the mouse at a link that is on the bottom right side of the page to avoid that the pop-up covers that link as that will cause an annoying on/off blinking if it happens.

There must be a bug if it's supposed to work as you describe because now I've got it in a mode where the popups are always on the left regardless of where I'm hovering (unless I hover over the extreme lower left as you describe, in which case the popup is on the right).

Maybe one of the extensions or the theme if you use a custom install has changed it.
