How do I upgrade without having Yahoo toolbar? Yahoo inserts itself often by saying this page can not be found. I want to upgrade but I don't want Yahoo toolbar!

I had loved Firefox until Yahoo started interfering with several of my attempts to open sites through my Google. Yahoo inserts itself often, saying this page could not be found... I would like to upgrade my Firefox but I don't want Yahoo's toolbar! Yahoo is the problem but it is coming through Firefox! How can I keep you but dump them? Interesting that I couldn't send this off in the Firefox made me sad box... or the ideas box
